A-level and GCSE maths tutor in Sheffield, taught online

I’m Archie, a University of Sheffield Financial Mathematics student. I’ve taught 250+ hours of GCSE and A-level maths to 40+ students, and their mock grades move quickly.

My timetable is already part-full, so spaces are limited. One-hour and two-hour sessions available, plus half-term crash courses.

2 to 6

GCSE maths mock, after 7 weeks

One of my GCSE students went from a grade 2 to a grade 6 in their mock, with full marks on every topic we’d covered in those seven weeks.

C to A

A-level mock after a 10-hour crash course. One week of focused sessions moved an A-level student up three grades.

250+ hours

40+ students taught, one-to-one and in groups, including a class of 8+. Every student has finished at least two grades above where they started.

These are results from individual students. Outcomes depend on the student’s starting point and the work put in between sessions.

How online tutoring works

You message me

Tell me the year group, the exam board and what feels shaky. I’ll reply with the slots that fit.

I organise everything

I agree the time, set up the live video session and send the link. There’s nothing for you to arrange.

Learn from anywhere

Students join from home, school or university on a laptop or tablet. No travel, so evenings aren’t lost to the commute.

Prices

GCSE maths

£25 per hour

Years 10 and 11. All exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel and OCR. One-hour or two-hour sessions.

A-level maths

£32 per hour

Years 12 and 13. All exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel and OCR. One-hour or two-hour sessions.

Need a time that isn’t listed? I can arrange sessions outside my usual hours, such as Saturday or Sunday evenings, for an extra £4 per hour.

Half-term crash courses

During school half terms I run crash courses for students preparing for exams: a session every day, so a whole week of focused revision instead of one hour at a time.

One A-level student went from a C to an A in their mock after a 10-hour, one-week course. Crash courses are available for GCSE and A-level maths, on any exam board.

Open slots fill in the order people message me. I’m happy to teach two-hour sessions: just ask for two open blocks back to back, such as Tuesday 5 to 7pm. If none suit, ask about an out-of-hours time (extra £4 per hour).

About me

I’m a second-year Financial Mathematics student at the University of Sheffield. I’ve tutored GCSE and A-level maths for over a year, one-to-one and in groups.

I teach to the exam board. Most of my students are on AQA or Edexcel, and I’ve taught students on every other board too. Sessions focus on the topics a student is actually losing marks on, rather than re-teaching what they already know.

Common questions

Which exam boards do you teach?

All of them. I’ve taught AQA and Edexcel the most, and I’ve worked with students on OCR and every other board too. Tell me the board when you message and I’ll match the sessions to the specification.

Does online tutoring work as well as in person?

Lessons are live video sessions, so the student can ask questions and work through problems with me in real time. The main difference is convenience: no travel, and students can join from wherever they are.

Which year groups do you teach?

GCSE maths in Years 10 and 11, and A-level maths in Years 12 and 13.

Do you offer two-hour sessions?

Yes. Sessions can be one hour or two. For two hours, ask for two open blocks back to back in the availability grid.

What is a crash course?

A short, intensive run of sessions before exams, usually over a school half term, with a session every day. One A-level student went from a C to an A in their mock after a 10-hour crash course. Message me for dates and pricing.

Can I book a time that isn’t listed?

Often, yes. Sessions outside the hours above, such as Saturday or Sunday evenings, can be arranged for an extra £4 per hour.

How do I book?

Message me on WhatsApp or email with the student’s year group, exam board and the topics they find hardest. I’ll reply with the slots that are still open.
